おしゃれカフェ

お店に入ったお客様から「おしゃれなお店」「おしゃれなカフェ」というお声をよくいただきます。内装デザインについて、クリスに聞いてみました。

The design of the shop doesn't attempt to hide the structure of the modern concrete building. I chose to highlight the concrete and use a sympathetic material (shikkui) for the serving counter. To soften the harshness of the concrete and add warmth we included many timber aspects which also acknowledge traditional Japanese architecture and the historical area of Mochiidono and Naramachi.

aka tombo coffeeの内装は、元々あるコンクリート造りのモダンな構造を隠してしまわないようにデザインしています。コンクリートの魅力に焦点を当て、コンクリートとマッチする素材である漆喰をカウンターとして使用しました。コンクリートの冷たく突き放す感じを和らげるため、多くの木材を使用しています。日本建築の象徴である木を使うことで、ならまちや「もちいどの」にもよく似合うお店に仕上がりました（まだ仕上がっていません）。
