平城京の近鉄線移設について話してみましょう（今週の日常英会話セッション）

今週のテーマはHome Townです。

私たちの奈良でいま話題になっていることのひとつに平城京を通る近鉄の移設がありますね。

1,000年以上前の貴重な都の跡を横切る赤い近鉄電車に乗ると、小さいころはとても不思議な感覚になっていました。

地元民としては近鉄電車に乗りまくって、とっくに見慣れた光景になってしまいましたが、やはり外国人の目から見ると特異なようです(^▽^;)

そんな「平城京」と「近鉄電車」について外国の方に説明したり、英語で議論したりする練習をしてみませんか。

使えそうなフレーズを作ってみました♪♪

1)  「開かずの踏切」を解消することは、地元住民にとって非常に重要である。

Solving the issue of the high volume railway crossings has significant meaning for local residents.

2) 歴史遺産は一度破壊されると、二度と元の価値を取り戻すことはできない。

Once historic heritage is destroyed, it will never restore its original value.

3) 都市開発には用地買収問題がつきものである。

City development always includes the issue of land purchasing.

4) この地域では、新たな建設の前に発掘調査が義務付けられることがある。

Excavation research is sometimes mandatory before new construction starts in this area.

5) 車窓からの風景を楽しみ、列車が含まれる写真を美しく撮影する。

People enjoy the view from train windows and take beautiful photos of scenes including trains.

6) 西大寺駅の列車の複雑な平面交差を見て、正確な管制となめらかな列車の動きに感嘆する。

The complicated train level crossings at Saidaiji station amaze people with the accurate control and smooth movement of trains.

7) 県、市、鉄道会社が合同で「駅周辺を高架化して踏切をなくす案」を国に提出した。

The prefecture, the city and the train company jointly submitted to the government 'a plan to construct overhead railways around the station to eliminate level crossings'.
